Apprenticeship Competition 2010— San Diego, California |

On July 3, 2010 Brother Ryan Brady, a 3rd year apprentice with AC Paving Co. Ltd.., represented the Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ Local 919 at the 2010 California Statewide Apprenticeship Demonstration held in San Diego, California Brother Brady won the right to represent OPCMIA Local 919 by beating out other local apprentices in a preliminary competition. Once selected Brother Brady spent several evenings and weekends of his own time practicing for the event. Ryan was selected as the top Apprentice at the demonstration The demonstration includes forming, placing and finishing of stairs, a curb and gutter, a small slab sloping to a trench drain, and a flat patio with a curved radius and a stenciled finish. The Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ Local 919 would like to thank Brother Ryan Brady for his hard work during his apprenticeship and the way he represented Local 919 in competition.
